HomeKhata ("we", "us", or "the app") is a personal and family budgeting app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using HomeKhata you agree to this policy.
Account information. When you sign in we collect your mobile phone number, which we use to create your account and send a one-time verification code (OTP).
Financial information you enter. The income, expenses, transactions, budgets, goals, bills, investments and lend/borrow records you choose to add. This data is stored so we can show it back to you across your sessions and devices.
Device & technical information. Basic information needed to operate the service, such as app version and a device token used to deliver budget and bill reminders (notifications).
HomeKhata can let you add entries by voice (microphone) or by scanning a receipt (camera / photo library). This processing happens on your device — the audio and images are used only to recognise the entry locally and are not uploaded to our servers. We only store the resulting entry (e.g. amount and category) that you confirm.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that host and run the app on our behalf (for example, our cloud server and database hosting), and only as needed to provide the service, or where required by law.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time — see Account & Data Deletion.
Verification codes are stored hashed, sessions use signed tokens, and traffic is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
You may access, correct, export or delete your data. To delete your account and data, follow the steps on our Account & Data Deletion page or contact us below.
HomeKhata is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
